Mary Schwalen is a leadership and career coach with eleven years experience with private and corporate clients. She helps leaders increase their influence, effectiveness and ability to lead and support teams and organizations through dynamic change.
Over her 30+ year corporate career, Mary built employee training and development infrastructure for companies in the electronics, telecommunications and biotechnology industries in the San Diego area. She worked with mid and senior level leaders in implementing job skills certification programs, team and individual leadership development programs, and supported many LEAN, continuous improvement and culture change projects. Her work helped these companies to retain and grow diverse talent and sustain effective team performance through societal and company changes.
Mary is semi-retired and has volunteered as a career coach and mentor with VetCTAP since 2013. Mary has a Master’s Degree in Education and holds the ICF ACC credential for professional coaches. She is a graduate of the Integral Coach Training Program at New Ventures West in San Francisco and the Knowledge Based Coaching in the Workplace program. She is certified by the Center for Creative Leadership as a 360 Debrief Expert.
